Pride Month

Pride Month celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community. It is a time to celebrate and learn as we continually foster a world where everyone feels valued and respected. Arete Living and Avamere are excited to sponsor Pride Northwest at the Portland Pride Waterfront Festival and Parade!

Juneteenth, June 19

Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth National Independence Day or Freedom Day, is considered the oldest known celebration commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, but it wasn’t until two years later that the news arrived in Galveston, Texas on June 19, 1865.

Father’s Day, June 19

Happy Father's Day to our residents, employees, and all fathers around the world! Today we celebrate all father figures, those we love and those remembered. Thank you to all dads who fill this special role.
