Here's what we're honoring this month!
International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Dec. 3
This observance aims to promote an understanding of disabilities and
mobilize support for the dignity, rights, and well-being of people with
disabilities. The 2022 theme is “Transformative solutions for inclusive
development: the role of innovation in fueling an accessible and equitable
world.” Learn more at idpwd.org.
Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, Dec. 7
We remember and honor the 2,403 citizens of the United States who
were killed in the attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7, 1941.
Remembrance events are held each year at the Pearl Harbor National
Memorial. Visit PearlHarborEvents.com to learn more.
Hanukkah, Dec. 18-26
This eight-day Jewish celebration commemorates the rededication during the
second century B.C. of the Second Temple in Jerusalem. Hanukkah means “dedication” in Hebrew. May you have a joyous festival of lights!
Christmas, Dec. 25
Christmas is a time of giving and sharing the joy of being with loved ones. Merry Christmas to our employees, residents, and family members!
Kwanzaa, Dec. 26-Jan. 1
Kwanzaa is an African American celebration of life. It began as a ritual to welcome
the first harvests to the home. The word kwanza is a KiSwahili (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania) word meaning “first.”
