You’ll see some new and a few familiar faces on our leadership team.

Sarah Silva, President

Sarah is a leader in the healthcare industry with over 20 years of experience, first joining Arete Living in 2007 and assumed role as division president, now CEO, in 2018. She is passionate about enhancing the quality of care provided in senior living communities as she serves on several healthcare boards and committees, including as secretary/treasurer with the ACHA/NCAL Board of Directors.

Thomas Cloutier, Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Thomas has a rich history with Arete Living in sales and marketing and previously as an executive director. He is passionate about senior living.

Melanie Mooney, Vice President of Assets & Business Development Melanie has served with Arete Living since 2020, where she manages senior living communities across Arizona, Oregon, and Utah. She holds over eight years of experience in the senior living industry with over 15 years of experience in management, accounting, and finance.

Lisa Coffey, Regional VP of Operations

Lisa brings to Arete her extensive experience in managing properties since 1990. She holds over eight years of experience as an executive director and regional director of operations.

Afra Mayfield, Regional Director of Operations

Afra has an extensive background in operations management, including rich experience as a regional director of operations with a specialty in assisted living and memory care. Afra oversees operations and financial success of 10 senior living communities in Oregon and Washington.

Jennifer Svoboda, Director of Standards

Jennifer has extensive experience in the senior living industry and currently serves on several healthcare boards and councils, including chair on the OHCA ALF/RCF Council and a senior examiner for the AHCA/NCAL quality awards.

Sara Sutherland, Director of Education

Sara holds over 18 years of experience with Arete Living. Her exceptional work and leadership skills have been recognized locally and state-wide, including the recent Leader of the Year award by the Oregon Health Care Association.

Jennifer Herring, Controller

Jennifer has served with Arete for over 10 years as a senior accountant, accounting manager, and today as Controller. She holds rich experience as an accountant and controller for several organizations.

Lisa Kaiser, Director of Human Resources

Supporting Lisa's strong history in human resources, she is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Lisa volunteers with her local community as a Court Appointed Special Advocate and a member of the Tigard Emergency Response Team.

Tyler Hargett, Senior Area Finance Manager

Tyler has served with Arete for over nine years, including as director of business, case management coordinator, and today as Senior Area Finance Manager. She oversees Arete’s finances across Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, and Washington.
