Areté Living strongly represented at the Oregon Health Care Association's (OHCA) convention this year!
Sarah Silva, President of Areté Living, earned the 2025 Special Service Award for her pivotal support of OHCA and advocacy during key legislation affecting seniors.

Sarah played a pivotal role in OHCA’s advocacy during this year’s legislative session by meeting with lawmakers and visiting the capitol. Her impactful efforts strengthened the work of OHCA’s government relations team, helping the industry achieve critical objectives.
“I’m honored to receive this award alongside such respected leaders in the healthcare industry,” Sarah stated. “I value the Oregon Health Care Association and its vital role in advocating for our profession. It is a privilege to represent seniors across the United States, and I remain committed to ensuring they receive the quality care they deserve.”

Sarah and two teammates presented during the convention. On day one, Sarah joined a panel on driving performance in senior living through analytics and AI. Maddie Almodovar, Executive Director of Avamere at Sandy, gave a powerful presentation on creating inclusive senior living communities.
The following day, Livia Thompson, Sr. Life Enrichment Director with Avamere at Bethany, hosted a panel for activity professionals. She and this lively group shared tips and ideas to enhance their programs for residents.
